A Bragg-Mitchell Mansion Engagement
When Katie contacted me about wedding photography for her May 2018 wedding, I was so excited to see that she put two of my favorite venues in Mobile, The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and The Bragg-Mitchell Mansion, as her ceremony and reception locations. I love these two venues so much, probably because they are so old-Mobile. I remember being in awe of both places as a child and both still leave an impression each time I’m there. Put the two together in one wedding day and I’m in heaven!
Katie and I first met via a Facetime consultation since she and her fiance, Patrick, live in South Carolina. You never know what spring weather will be like (rain or shine), so I suggested going to The Bragg for Katie and Patrick’s engagement session so that we could take advantage of the many gorgeous settings that we might not have time to shoot in on wedding day. The day we chose for their session turned out to be the most perfect day for a portrait session that we’ve had in quite a long time. Not too hot, not too humid. Just perfect. The light was so dreamy and golden that I could barely contain my excitement!
When Katie and Patrick went to change into their second outfit, I asked her for her engagement ring so I could do some ring shots. As she handed it to me, I noticed a charm with a Fleur-de-lis on her bracelet. Katie shared that the charm was special to her since she attended LSU and Patrick is from Louisiana. I also noticed she was wearing a second ring with her initials. I absolutely loved being able to incorporate both of these accessories into a few of the ring shots!!!
Katie and Patrick, I’m so glad we were able to squeeze this session in while y’all were in town! You made this session so much fun! I’m looking forward to May 2018! It’s going to be fabulous! π
