A Mobile Botanical Gardens Engagement
Engagement week continues and I’ve decided two things after putting together this week’s posts. One, I definitely need to plan for an end-of-the-year furry friend post because my clients have the sweetest dogs ever! Two, I have missed doing engagement sessions during the slower summer season! There are certain months that are busy for weddings and certain months that are busy for engagement sessions. It’s a nice change of pace to switch back to engagement sessions for a bit (although wedding season is right around the corner so you’ll be seeing some bride and groom photos on the blog again real soon!).
Katlin and Lee grew up a mile from each other in Saraland, but didn’t know each other until after college when they were introduced to each other by mutual friends. Katlin told me when we first met that her dad cried when Lee asked him for her hand in marriage. The tears were not tears of sadness, but tears of JOY because he’d been praying for that day to come almost as soon as he first met Lee three years ago. He knew that Lee was the right man for his little girl from the very beginning. Isn’t that just the sweetest?!
When you meet Katlin and Lee you immediately feel like you’ve known them for years. After only a few minutes of chatting with them I could tell that they both have big hearts and lots of love for their family and friends. Since Katlin and Lee both share a love for the outdoors, we decided to do their engagement session in the Longleaf Pine Forest at the Mobile Botanical Gardens. The Mobile Botanical Gardens is one of my favorite places in Mobile. I even begin most days of the week with a hike through the Longleaf. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place and I thought it fit Katlin and Lee’s personalities perfectly.
The day of Katlin and Lee’s session I was once again expecting rain. Mobile always gets a lot of rain, but we have been in an extra rainy pattern around here lately! To my surprise, we had zero clouds and the most A-MAZ-ING light the day of this session! It was “pinch-me-I’m-in-photographer-heaven” light! Plus, I think we can all agree that these two look like they stepped out of a magazine. I am always saying I have the best brides, but I really have the best grooms too! Lee was such a good sport about wearing a suit for their second outfit on such a warm day. I know he was dying under all those layers, but it was SO worth it! His dapper suit photographed beautifully next to Katlin’s gorgeous creamy white dress.
Can’t get enough of engagement season?! I have more couples to introduce to everyone next week! Be sure to subscribe for updates so you don’t miss one of these dreamy sessions!
How adorable is Hondo??!!! He’s totally trying to steal the limelight here, don’t ya think?
